Luxury Holidays in Cannes

The city of Cannes is famous for its film festival which takes place here every May. Located on the coast of the French Riviera, what was once a small sleepy fishing village, is today a scene of international culture and sophistication.
The Cannes Film Festival was founded in 1946 and is one of the world’s oldest and most prestigious film festivals. It is held each year at the Palais des Festivals et des Congres in Cannes, and during it’s duration, many Hollywood stars are in attendance. The city is also famous for its luxury shopping, restaurants and hotels.

The Hotel Martinez is one of the Riviera’s grandest hotels. It is located on the La Croisette Promenade right at the centre of the Cote d Azur, just a few blocks away from the Palais de festivals, and facing the Bay of Cannes. It is here, that many of the stars who attend the Cannes film festival meet, dine, and stay. Recently the hotel has undergone some renovations bringing it up to date, but still preserving the elegance of the nineteen twenties which is part of its own superb charm. The new Penthouse apartments and junior suites on the seventh floor are part of these renovations, and afford some truly spectacular views of the coast.

Rated as a four star deluxe hotel, The hotel Martinez boasts one of the largest private beaches on La Croisette, with 400 sun loungers, and its own pontoon. Many water sporting activities are available here through the summer months, from water skiing to surfing, wake boarding and parasailing, as well as excursions out to sea.

The hotel has its own spa offering a variety of treatments including their four handed ylang ylang massage, and is complimented by the hotels own swimming pool, gymnasium, sauna and solarium.

The hotel has three restaurants. La Palme d’Or which is a two star Michelin restaurant where you can enjoy gourmet French cuisine that is said to be highly inventive and daring. While you enjoy it, you are surrounded by absolute art deco style, movie star portraits, ceiling mirrors, palm trees and sea views. Le Relais is the second of the three restaurants and serves international cuisine. Like the La Palme d’Or dress code is smart casual, and here, you have a terrace that extends out to the poolside, and it is located close to the L’Amiral piano bar. The hotel’s third restaurant is situated down on its private beach. Restaurant le Zplage is an open air restaurant where you can dine at fine teak tables under shady parasols while enjoying the sunshine and the sea close by.
